The first stage of the Gran Via del Devero, exciting and unimaginable for the surprises it holds, is perhaps the toughest (in terms of duration and elevation gain) of the entire journey, so much so that many hikers choose to split it into two, stopping in the Crevoladossola area, where it is easy to find accommodation and continue the remaining part the following day. On average, it takes more than 9 hours of walking: in less than twenty minutes, you go from the station in the heart of the city of Domodossola (unforgivable not to take a day to visit it!) to the trails in the low valley woods, which will accompany us in a gradual ascent to the high elevations of Colmine di Crevola and the “enchanted” woods of Foppiano. A kaleidoscope of sensations, different environments and emotions: from the city to the villages, from wild woods to the heights of the first peaks of the route.
